On Friday, September 13th I was on site for the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival as it made one of the tours last stops in Irvine, CA. The weather wasn’t too hot, the crowd, although not a packed house, enjoyed all of the bands.

In the five-minute clip, former MARILYN MANSON and current ROB ZOMBIE drummer Ginger Fish (real name: Kenneth Robert Wilson) shares his tip five tips for being on tour while on this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

Ginger Fish drummed for MARILYN MANSON from 1995 to 2011. His simple-yet-powerful approach was the driving force behind MANSON‘s hit albums “Antichrist Superstar” and “Mechanical Animals”.

Ginger cleverly combines modern drum sequencing and sample loops with traditional drum instruments.

Ginger, a left-handed drummer who sets up right-handed, always goes for simplicity and taste in his approach to his playing. According to Ginger, this is why he landed the MANSON gig.

Rob Zombie‘s fifth album, “Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor”, sold 34,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart.

On July 7, Access Unlimited TV‘s Lori Trejo conducted an interview with BUTCHER BABIES at the Englewood, Colorado stop of this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. You can now watch the chat below.

BUTCHER BABIES‘ debut album, “Goliath”, sold around 3,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 107 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD came out on July 9 via Century Media Records.

The Los Angeles-based band — frontwomen Carla Harvey and Heidi Shepherd, guitarist Henry Flury, bassist Jason Klein and drummer Chris Warner — wrapped its tour with MARILYN MANSON in late February and went straight into the studio with producer Josh Wilbur (GOJIRA, LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED).

In a recent interview with CrypticRock.com, Shepherd stated about “Goliath”: “The album, as a whole, is very diverse. There is basically something for everybody. We all have different influences and everything is portrayed on this album. Jason [Klein, bass] loves death metal; Henry [Flury, guitar], in general, metal; I love nu-metal; and Carla loves classic metal. We all love every [kind of] metal but those are our favorite and those are where we came from. All our influences shine bright on this album. It’s definitely a coloration of everybody’s influences and everybody’s love. We’re all very proud of it in one way or another. There is something for everybody in it.”

On August 22, Sami Jarroush of the Rock It Out! Blog conducted an interview with JANE’S ADDICTION singer Perry Farrell at the Tinley Park, Illinois stop of this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. You can now watch the chat below. Also available is quality fan-filmed video footage of JANE’S ADDICTION performing a new song entitled “Another Soulmate” at the Tinley Park show.

“Being that we have a tour, I’m really happy that we have a good song that will serve as our calling card when we hit various cities,” Perry Farrell told RollingStone, com. “JANE’S is kind of known for long songs; being this is a one-song single, I thought it’d be interesting to try and write a BEATLES-esque short song that would be fast and furious and it would just be fun, dig it and move on, short attention span.”

In addition to JANE’S ADDICTION, Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival features ALICE IN CHAINS, COHEED AND CAMBRIA, WALKING PAPERS and DANKO JONES, among others.

Farrell talked to RollingStone.com about some of the other bands on the bill. “I’ve met the COHEED AND CAMBRIA kids; I like them a lot,” he said. “I like how creative they are with their comic-book stuff; it’s amazing that they’re so into making comics and superheroes and things like that. It reminds me a little bit of the TOOL guys when I first met them and they were really into doing interesting and bizarre things with video. The ALICE [IN CHAINS] guys I’ve known forever; I knew them in their heyday and I’ve continued to stay in touch with Jerry Cantrell.”

JANE’S ADDICTION released a concert document called “Live In NYC” on June 25. The set was issued on DVD/CD, Blu-ray and double LP vinyl, as well as standalone DVD and CD. The show was filmed and recorded at New York City’s Terminal 5 on July 25, 2011, while the band was touring in support of its first studio album in eight years, “The Great Escape Artist”.

Arizona extreme metallers JOB FOR A COWBOY spent their summer on tour throughout North America as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. After returning home, the band has hunkered to write their follow up album to “Demonocracy”.

While JOB FOR A COWBOY demos new material, fans can check out a live drum cam video of “Tarnished Gluttony”, live from Mayhem.

Additionally, guitarist Tony Sannicandro is preparing to launch a series of new instructional videos via his YouTube channel.

Bassist Nick Schendzielos updates fans: “Mayhem was absolutely phenomenal. We want to send out a huge thanks — from the massive, rabidly energetic crowds every single day (despite the heat!), to John Reese and his amazing production staff, and to all the killer bands and crew we were fortunate enough to party/share the stage with.

“Now it’s time to get knee deep in riff-land to start composing our next full length record which will be coming out in 2014. We have a really exciting concept for the record and we can’t wait to share it with you guys! Til then, keep metal as an adjective!”

Schendzielos continues: “And to our German friends — I’m flying out tomorrow to the Warwick Bass Guitar Camp at the Warwick HQ in Markneukirchen. There’s an open day where you can come and hang. It’s gonna be awesome.”

JOB FOR A COWBOY‘s latest album, “Demonocracy”, sold 4,900 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 87 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band’s sophomore full-length CD, “Ruination”, opened with around 10,600 units back in July 2009 to land at No. 42.

Released on April 10, 2012 via Metal Blade Records, “Demonocracy” was produced by Jason Seucof (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, TRIVIUM) who recorded the band’s blistering “Ruination” full-length, at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida, and features another strikingly detailed concept cover by artist Brent Elliott White.
