Detroit, MI’s Battlecross performed at the Orion Music and More fest on June 8th, and the band was joined by metal drummer, Kevin Talley, who has previously performed with Six Feet Under, Chimaira, The Red Chord, Dying Fetus, and more. With less than two weeks to go before the beginning of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest, Battlecross is excited to announce that Kevin Talley will also be performing with the group all summer long. Poland’s blackened death metal outfit BEHEMOTH has been forced to cancel its appearance at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival due to their drummer Inferno taking ill and requiring surgery.

Huntress will be following last year’s “Spell Eater” ( reviewed here ) with “Starbound Beast,” to be released on July 2nd during the band’s run with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

Finnish heavy metal band Children of Bodom has set “Halo of Blood” as the title for an eighth studio album, set for a June 11th North American release via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, Pitchfork premieres the title track from “Halo of Blood,” which can be heard right here . Recording has been completed and the finishing touches are being applied to the tracks and art. The lineup for the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival has been set. Artists performing on 2013′s sixth annual festival include main stage performers Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Mastodon and Amon Amarth. The festival area is led by Children Of Bodom, Machine Head, Behemoth, Job For A Cowboy, Emmure, Born Of Osiris, Motionless In White, Butcher Babies, Battlecross, Huntress, Thrown Into Exile and City In The Sea. For the first time, the festival will include four different stages.
