SABATON will release a new DVD and Blu-ray, “Swedish Empire Live”, on September 20 via Nuclear Blast. The disc features the band’s live performance at the renowned Polish Woodstock Festival in 2012, where over half a million fans had gathered to watch SABATON in action. Besides this main feature, the first-ever SABATON live offering also features even more live footage of the band’s performances in Gothenburg, London and Oberhausen on their extensive “Swedish Empire Tour”.

“Swedish Empire Live” will be made available in the following formats:

* 2Blu-ray digi
* 2DVD digi
* DVD (Poland only)
* CD digi
* 2LP (limited black vinyl in gatefold + poster)
* 2LP (limited yellow vinyl in gatefold + poster) (Nuclear Blast mailorder only)

SABATON‘s latest album, “Carolus Rex”, was recently certified gold in Poland for sales in excess of 10,000 copies. The band was presented with gold plaques during their signing session in Warsaw. The CD was also certified gold in Sweden for sales in excess of 20,000 copies. (Note: The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry [IFPI] in Sweden has revised the sales requirements for albums to reach gold status in the country twice in the last 11 years — from the pre-2002 level of 40,000 to the current 20,000.)

“Carolus Rex” was released on May 22, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records. The lyrics for the CD, which was made available in both English and Swedish, deal with the Swedish Empire (referring to the Kingdom of Sweden between 1561 and 1721).

SABATON last year parted ways with guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sundén, drummer Daniel Mulback and keyboardist Daniel Mÿhr.

Behind-the-scenes footage from KAMELOT‘s August 31 performance at Centro De Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in San Juan, Puerto Rico can be seen below.

KAMELOT keyboardist Oliver Palotai is sitting out the band’s North American tour so he can stay home with longtime girlfriend Simone Simons, (EPICA singer) as they await the birth of their first child. Filling in for him is Coen Janssen of EPICA.

KAMELOT‘s latest album, “Silverthorn”, sold 5,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 79 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band’s previous CD, “Poetry For The Poisoned”, opened with around 6,100 units in September 2010 to enter the chart at No. 74.

“Silverthorn” was released on October 30, 2012 in North America, October 26, 2012 in Germany and October 29, 2012 in the rest of Europe via Steamhammer/SPV. The CD marks the band’s first release with Tommy Karevik, the Swedish vocalist who previously fronted SEVENTH WONDER (a group that he is still a member of).

Tommy first appeared as one of the guest singers on KAMELOT‘s very successful 2011 Pandemonium World Tour.

KAMELOT supported Finnish/Dutch symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH on their North American tour last summer.

Lechon Atomico of MetalPR.com conducted an interview with heavy metal vocalist Mike Vescera (OBSESSION, ANIMETAL USA, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, LOUDNESS) when OBSESSION played in San Juan, Puerto Rico on August 17. You can now watch the chat below.

OBSESSION‘s latest album, “Order Of Chaos”, was released in October 2012 through Inner Wound Recordings. The CD was made available in Japan through Spiritual Beast.

In an interview, Vescera described “Order of Chaos” as “a cross between ‘Carnival Of Lies’ [2006] and the early OBSESSION stuff.” He added, “I think it’s geared more towards the older sound, the straight-tforward metal like the ‘Marshall Law’ album [1984], but you can hear some of the ‘Carnival’ sound in there, too.”

The Japanese edition of the album features the exclusive bonus track “The Damned”.

“Carnival of Lies” was re-released through Mausoleum Records on February 12, 2008. This reissue featured new artwork and the bonus tracks “Panic In The Streets” (previously only available on the Avalon release in Japan) and “Judas”. The album’s title track featured Swedish guitar sensation Robert Marcello (DANGER DANGER, IRONHORSE) and Boston based neo-classical shred-god Joe Stump (REIGN OF TERROR).

OBSESSION gained success in the late ’80s with the release of a four-song EP, 1984’s “Marshall Law” (Metal Blade Records), two LPs (1986’s “Scarred For Life” and 1987’s “Methods Of Madness”, both for Enigma/Capitol Records), and an MTV “Headbanger’s Ball”-aired video for “For the Love of Money”, from “Methods of Madness”.

OBSESSION‘s original lineup featured Michael and Jay along with Bruce Vitale, Art Maco (guitar) and Matt Karagus (bass).

L.A. thrash veterans Anger As Art have now set a release date for their 4th full length album “Hubris, Inc.” via Old School Metal Records. Frontman Steve Gaines comments:

“We seem to be heading into the end of the calendar year once again, once all release details are finally ironed out. Our last 2 albums have been released in the 4th quarter, which is fine. Both have been sold (or downloaded???) honorably. But we head into the end of year shut down, when the entertainment industry is essentially closed. So, instead of hurrying to release before the year cuts off, we have decided to push back the release date until Tuesday, February 5, 2013. This gives us plenty of time to let new music drip out slowly… and get all of our ducks in a row for a solid push next year.”

In addition to a traditional CD and digital release, “Hubris, Inc.” will be released on picture disc vinyl with a cover featuring expanded artwork, liner notes and lyric sheets. Says Gaines: “Old School? Of course. There is such a great feeling holding that big piece of vinyl in your hand, studying the cover… and dropping needle for the first time. It is something we and OSM have wanted to do since… well, the advent of the CD. It is unique, and immediately collectable. I would advise that you pre-order your copy now, because once they are gone, they are gone!

“Also, Public Relations for ‘Hubris, Inc.’ will be handled by CLAWHAMMER PR. Many friends of our have worked with Scott and Ryan over the years. We love the work they do, and specifically their understanding of what we are. We cannot wait to get this campaign started.”

Additionally, Anger As Art will be shooting a promotional video for the song “Time Devours Life” within the next month. Finally, Anger As Art has been invited to headline the Rock Spot Plus End Of Year show on 15/12/2012 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Gaines comments:

“We have had a strong Puerto Rican fanbase since about 20 years before Anger started. But we have not been able to coordinate a time to appear there. Being asked to do this show is an honor and a great opportunity. It will not suck to be in the Carribean at Christmastime.”
