In 2012, one of the greatest Brazilian heavy metal bands rejoined forces with its original lead singer after 22 years. VIPER reunited with vocalist André Matos (ANGRA, SHAAMAN) in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the group’s album “Soldiers Of Sunrise”. For the first time ever, VIPER played its first two LPs, “Soldiers Of Sunrise” and “Theater Of Fate”, in their entirety during a short run of dates in Brazil.

VIPER‘s July 2012 concert in São Paulo was professionally filmed and will be released on DVD. Entitled “Live in São Paulo”, the set is currently being edited and finalized by DOGS CAN FLY producer Maurice Cersosimo.

In other news, “Soldiers Of Sunrise” and “Theater Of Fate” will be made available in deluxe remastered editions.

In addition to Matos, VIPER‘s 2012 lineup included Pit Passarell (bass, vocals), Felipe Machado (guitar) and Guilherme Martin (drums). Hugo Mariutti replaced Yves Passarell during the trek.

BIG NOIZE, the band featuring Vinny Appice (DIO, BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL) on drums, Phil Soussan (OZZY OSBOURNE, BILLY IDOL, VINCE NEIL) on bass, George Lynch (DOKKEN, LYNCH MOB) on guitar and Sebastian Bach (SKID ROW) on vocals, kicked off its South American tour on July 9 at Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago, Chile.

“Living And Drifting”, the new video from ALMAH — the Brazilian metal band led by former ANGRA singer Eduardo “Edu” Falaschi — can be seen below The clip was filmed in Sao Paulo and directed by producer, musician and composer Diogo Araújo from Under Control Filmes, who is well known in Brazil for his work with more mainstream artists.

Brazilian metal band announced the replacement for outgoing vocalist Talita “Thalita” Cristina, who joined earlier this year but hasn’t appeared on any recordings for the band. The new vocalist is Bil Martins (Dark Witch/Ex-Heavenly Kingdom). The band is gearing up for the recordings of the third studio release “Keep it Hellish,” which is due out in 2013 via Pure Steel Records.

The press release reads as follows:

“After the premature departure of the singer Thalita that replaced the former vocalist Roger Hammer, HELLISH WAR announced that Bil Martins is it’s new frontman.

“Born in the south cost of Sao Paulo, Bil is an experienced vocalist with a 15 years career. Founding member of the band Dark Witch, he now assumes the position of new HELLISH WAR singer and his first mission is to record the new band’s album, Keep It Hellish. This will be the third studio release of the band, fourth of its career, sucessor of the live effort Live in Germany (Hellion Records). Keep It Hellish will be released in Europe by Pure Steel Records in February of 2013 and will preced the second European Tour of the band being booked for October.

“The debut of Bil Martins on stage with HELLISH WAR was on friday, December 14th, during the band’s show at Asteroid Bar in Sorocaba, Sao Paulo.”

Saxon has announced an international release for “Heavy Metal Thunder – The Movie” this month, and the band will also be releasing new album “Sacrifice” in February next year. The band has now checked in with the following update about new South American shows:
