To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its very first album, “The Morning Never Came”, Finnish atmospheric doom/death metal outfit SWALLOW THE SUN will have its September 26 concert at Klubi in Tampere, Finland, streamed live around the world via LiveMusicStage.com (“ticket” cost: 5 euros). The show will see the sextet perform its debut outing in full alongside selected newer material.

SWALLOW THE SUN drummer Kai Hahto will sit out the “The Morning Never Came” anniversary tour and will be temporarily replaced by Juuso Raatikainen.

Support on the trek will be provided by ambient rock band ANTIMATTER (United Kingdom) and gothic metallers THE FORESHADOWING (Italy).

SWALLOW THE SUN‘s fifth full-length album, “Emerald Forest And The Blackbird”, entered the official chart in Finland at position No. 2. Released on February 1, 2012 via Spinefarm Records, the CD was recorded during September and October 2011 by Mikko Karmila (NIGHTWISH, AMORPHIS, CHILDREN OF BODOM) at Drumforest Studios in Viitasaari and Sonic Pump 2 in Helsinki, and by Hannu Honkonen at Noisework Studios in Helsinki. The effort was mixed by Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, APOCALYPTICA, AMORPHIS, MOONSPELL) and was mastered by Mika Jussila (NIGHTWISH, AMORPHIS, SENTENCED) at Finnvox Studios. The artwork was once again created by Rami Mursula.

Dutch symphonic metallers EPICA will return to the stage on April 30, 2014 for an album-release show at 013 in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

After taking a break from the road due the pregnancy of lead singer Simone Simons, the release of a new concert DVD, “Retrospect”, as well as the writing and recording of the band’s upcoming CD, the sextet will put on a memorable show, with plans to perform both old and new songs.

EPICA is currently finishing up the pre-production of the follow-up to “Requiem For The Indifferent”, with plans to enter the studio in October with producer Joost Van Den Broek (the former AFTER FOREVER and AYREON keyboard player who has previously worked with REVAMP and STREAM OF PASSION).

To make the album-release show even more special, EPICA‘s fans will not only be able to purchase regular tickets, but there will be two exclusive bundles available for this event. The first bundle contains a signed version of the upcoming album and the second, larger bundle will consist of a goodie bag, containing a signed copy of the upcoming album, an exclusive T-shirt, flag, lanyard, VIP laminate and a limited-edition poster.

Tickets and bundle for this show will go on sale Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:00 CET through Ticketmaster.nl.

There will be special “early-bird” tickets available at reduced price. This offer is valid until September 28, 2013.

EPICA celebrated its 10th anniversary with a one-night-only event, dubbed “Retrospect”, on March 23 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The band was accompanied by the seventy-piece Reményi Ede Chamber Orchestra and the Miskolc National Theatre Choir, playing an unforgettable three-hour best-of set.

Ten high-definition cameras captured this very special sold-out show while EPICA played in front of nearly five thousand ecstatic fans. In addition to a collection of the band’s biggest hits from across the spectrum of their entire catalog, this once-in-a-lifetime spectacular also featured the live debut of “Twin Flames” and the previously unreleased “Retrospect”, covers of classics by Vivaldi, Pergolesi, and Oscar-winning film composer John Williams, two guest collaborations with the venerable Floor Jansen (NIGHTWISH, REVAMP), and a very special performance of their breakthrough single “Quietus” with founding members Jeroen Simons, Ad Sluijter and Yves Huts.

On November 8, Nuclear Blast will release “Retrospect” as a deluxe hardcover book with 48 pages, both as a 2DVD/3CD and 2Blu-ray/3CD version.

The self-titled debut album from London’s metal sextet The Devil is out now worldwide via Candlelight Records. Recently underworld music portal The Obelisk hosted an exclusive stream of a new track from “The Devil,” the ominous “Alternative Dimensions.” Listen in at this location.

You can also view a visual depictions for “Universe” in the player below. The following press release was issued about the album:

“Not a typical metal band, the anonymous masked and cloaked musicians which embody The Devil combine traditional/classic heavy metal with select historical, political and conspiracy-laden oracles, presenting a cinematic soundscape that is sure to strike the fancy of the curious. The 13-track album was crafted at six different recording studios and possesses a sound that is unlike any other you will encounter.

“Two songs from The Devil have already been tapped for soundtrack inclusion; ‘Extinction Level Event’ was licensed to upcoming film E.S.P. expected before the end of 2012 and ‘Divinorium’ has been licensed to the upcoming film The Fury. The Fury is being directed by James Colmer (Superman Returns, House of Wax, See No Evil), and features Erica Leerhsen (Blair Witch Project, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and is expected early 2013.”
