On September 27, RockNLive.org conducted an interview with ’80s hard rock queen Lita Ford. You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below.

Lita Ford will release a new live album, “The Bitch Is Back…Live”, on November 5 in North America, on October 25 in Germany and on October 28 in the rest of Europe through SPV/Steamhammer. The disc features a recording of Lita‘s October 2012 performance at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California.

The album will be released as a digipak with a special booklet including fan photos and download.

Where does the title come from? Lita opens the show with her rendition of the classic Elton John track “The Bitch is Back”, which was previously released as a bonus track on “Living Like A Runaway”.

“Well, I heard [the original version of the song] on the radio and I just thought it worked for Elton John, and it works for Lita Ford,” Lita explained to Metal-Rules.com when asked how she came to cover the track. “It kind of makes a statement, saying, ‘She’s back,’ and this is me saying this, not anybody else, you know?! It came from me, and I spoke to Elton John backstage before we released the album and I wanted his blessing. I didn’t want to just take his song and do it because I’ve done my own version of it. It’s more guitar-orientated instead of piano. So I said to him we’re doing ‘The Bitch Is Back’ and we gave him a copy of it, and his tour manager wrote back and said, ‘It’s one rocking version.’ But I went backstage because he came through town and I went backstage and said, ‘Hello!’ and he said, ‘That’s my song,’ you know, ‘That’s my song,’ and I said, ‘Yes, it is your song,’ and I said, ‘Thank you for letting me do it,’ and he said, ‘Thank you for doing my song.’ So I thought, ‘Right on, I got his blessing.'”

Ford has recruited Bobby Rock (VINNIE VINCENT INVASION, NELSON) to sit behind the kit for her shows in Australia, Europe and the U.S., as well as the recent Monsters Of Rock cruise in the Bahamas.

Lita‘s touring drummer for much of 2012 was Scot Coogan, who has previously played with BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION, ACE FREHLEY and LYNCH MOB.

Lita‘s current touring lineup:

* Lita Ford – Guitar, Vocals
* Mitch Perry (MSG, ASIA, EDGAR WINTER) – Guitar
* Bobby Rock (VINNIE VINCENT INVASION, NELSON) – Drums
* Marty O’Brien (WE ARE THE FALLEN, TOMMY LEE, STATIC-X, DISTURBED) – Bass

Lita last year filmed a video for the song “Mother” in Joshua Tree, California. Directing the clip was Ford‘s former THE RUNAWAYS bandmate Victory Tischler-Blue, whose film “Edgeplay” was based on her tenure in the 1970s all-girl teenage rock act. “Mother” is dedicated to Lita‘s estranged sons, Rocco and James (father is former NITRO singer Jim Gillette).

Ford‘s latest album, “Living Like A Runaway”, was released on June 19, 2012 in North America. The effort was made available in four configurations: a double LP, limited-edition CD, standard CD and digital download. The artwork for the album was created by famed rock photographer Mark Weiss.

Behind-the-scenes and performance footage from KAMELOT‘s September 20 concert at Slim’s in San Francisco, California can be seen below.

KAMELOT keyboardist Oliver Palotai is sitting out the band’s North American tour so he can stay home with longtime girlfriend Simone Simons, (EPICA singer) as they await the birth of their first child. Filling in for him is Coen Janssen of EPICA.

KAMELOT‘s latest album, “Silverthorn”, sold 5,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 79 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band’s previous CD, “Poetry For The Poisoned”, opened with around 6,100 units in September 2010 to enter the chart at No. 74.

“Silverthorn” was released on October 30, 2012 in North America, October 26, 2012 in Germany and October 29, 2012 in the rest of Europe via Steamhammer/SPV. The CD marks the band’s first release with Tommy Karevik, the Swedish vocalist who previously fronted SEVENTH WONDER (a group that he is still a member of).

In a 2012 interview with Loudwire, KAMELOT guitarist Thomas Youngblood stated about what Karevik brings to the band: “I think when we knew we had to bring in a new person on vocals, we wanted the opportunity to grow the band, not just to maintain the band or survive. We wanted to look at this as an opportunity to make the band bigger, [and] I think with Tommy we can do that. Not only is he an exceptional singer, he’s a great songwriter and he’s way ahead of what I thought he would be in terms of being a frontman. People who come out to shows will see that this guy is a force to be reckoned with. I can’t imagine a better choice, honestly. In the beginning, when this whole thing started, we were a little unsure of what the future might be, but now we’re really excited about it.”

California thrashers HIRAX have been forced to pushed back the release date of their new album, “Immortal Legacy”, to March 4, 2014 (February 24 in Europe) from the previously announced October 22 via SPV/Steamhammer. It will be made available as a CD, gatefold colored LP and a digital download.

Comments HIRAX singer Katon W. De Pena: “We are sorry for the delays as we know that the fans are waiting desperately for the album, but we have had some unexpected delays in the studio and we do not want to release a half-hearted album. Our fans deserve only the best, so watch out for one of the best thrash metal records released in a long time. We are also sorry that the FLOTSAM AND JETSAM / HIRAX European tour is canceled, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to pull the plug. We are planning a full-scale U.S. tour in March, and have further plans to return to Europe. As a little compensation, we will release a digital single for the song ‘Hellion Rising’ on November 22nd. Thanks for all your understanding and patience, and be sure that 2014 will be a killer year for HIRAX. Horns up!”

“Immortal Legacy” was produced by Bill Metoyer (SLAYER, ARMORED SAINT, W.A.S.P., SACRED REICH) and it contains “14 new raging thrash metal songs that will make you bang your head,” according to Katon. He adds: “This is our most epic-sounding record to date, sonically powerful and over the top.” The CD features guest appearances by Jim Durkin (DARK ANGEL), Juan Garcia (AGENT STEEL, EVILDEAD) and Rocky George (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, FISHBONE).

Philip Lawvere, the artist behind such classic album covers as KREATOR‘s “Pleasure To Kill” and CELTIC FROST‘s “Emperor’s Return”, designed the “Immortal Legacy” cover. Lawvere had done stunning illustrations for numerous albums and is best known for a slew of thrash metal offerings released on Noise Records.

Said Katon: “We couldn’t be happier to have Philip Lawvere illustrating the cover of our new album; after getting Bill Metoyer to produce it, this is truly the icing on the thrash metal cake!”

“Immortal Legacy” track listing:

01. Hellion Rising
– The Conquests
– Thunder Roar
02. La Boca De La Bestia – Mouth Of The Beast
03. Mass Hysteria
04. Tied To The Gallows Pole
05. Atlantis – Journey To Atlantis (instrumental)

08. Sign Of The Wolf
09. Immortal Legacy
10. Violence Of Action
11. Deceiver
12. Mephistopheles
13. Earthshaker (instrumental)
