A teaser for “Open The Gates Of Hell”, the new video from Southern California metallers WINDS OF PLAGUE, can be seen below. WINDS OF PLAGUE‘s third full-length CD, “Against The World”, sold 8,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 60 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on April 19, 2011 via Century Media Records, the effort featured guest appearances from members of HATEBREED, TERROR, FOR TODAY, STRAY FROM THE PATH and former world heavyweight wrestling champion and sports entertainment legend Ultimate Warrior (who performs an epic spoken-word track entitled “The Warrior Code”).

Stray From the Path hit up the politics on their new single "False Flag," and it's pretty interesting to say the least. Before you accuse me of not liking this because it's punk or whatever, just don't. Stop. "False Flag" is one of those songs where you're all like, "hell yeah, this is going to …

Formed in Sheffield in 2010 in the midst of an alternative scene that had exploded after the success of Bring Me The Horizon (and that has recently seen the likes of While She Sleeps start to reap some deserved praise as modern metal trailblazers), experimental hardcore five-piece Dead Harts are looking to garner some success of their own.

Given their scintillating blend of punk, hardcore and metal and nods to furious, genre-smashing luminaries such as The Chariot, Stray From The Path and Norma Jean, they’ve certainly got the chops for it – but they’re more than aware that they have some pretty stiff competition.

“Where we’re different from other bands is in our live performances,” says guitarist Matt Pask flatly. “I’ve never seen a band who can rival us. We play really simple stuff, but when it comes to our stage presence, we go all out.”

Big words indeed, but as anyone who’s caught Dead Harts live can attest, they’re backed up spectacularly every time the Northerners rip whichever unfortunate stage they’re stepping out onto to shreds.

“I’m 27 now, and it’s taken a long time for our scene to adapt itself to heavy music,” adds Pask (who goes by his surname, FYI) when asked about the surrounding musical influences of his hometown. “But, it feels like heavy music is coming into the mainstream a lot now, especially with Bring Me The Horizon and While She Sleeps. The Steel City is the hub for modern, heavy music, and it’s amazing to be part of that. It’s taken a while, but I think that this year could be the year for heavy music.”

And where do Dead Harts fit into that year?

“We’ll be touring here and probably going over to the US and Canada as well,” Pask muses. Get ready, US!

Counterparts has released a new video for “The Disconnect,” taken from latest release “The Current Will Carry Us.” The video was produced by Vinnie Leonetti on the band’s recent Canadian tour with Stray From The Path and Obey The Brave. Check out the clip below.

Vocalist Brendan Murphy comments: “The video for The Disconnect is a perfect representation of us as a band. When we go on tour, we aren’t there to impress anyone, we aren’t going to ‘work,’ and we are going to have fun. Since day one, this band has been about having fun and making ourselves happy. This video gives people an insight into who we are when we aren’t on stage and how we spend our time. Whether it is skateboarding, trust-falling off our trailer, dancing, getting drunk, playing UNO in crappy hotel rooms or just straight up being children; you can be sure that we’re having the time of our lives. That’s what motivates us to get in the van time after time.”
