A teaser for the new song “Disconnect Me” from Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based melodic death metallers THE AGONIST can be seen below. The full track will be released on March 21.

THE AGONIST earlier in the week announced the addition of singer Vicky Psarakis to the group’s ranks. Vicky joins THE AGONIST as the replacement for Alissa White-Gluz, who left the band to focus on her new gig as the frontwoman of ARCH ENEMY.

Comments THE AGONIST in a statement: “We announce that after three albums and countless tours, we officially part ways with vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. We wish Alissa all the best with ARCH ENEMY and her future endeavors.

“It is the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for THE AGONIST! We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to the THE AGONIST family. Please give a warm welcome to very talented vocalist Vicky Psarakis!”

THE AGONIST‘s third album, “Prisoners”, debuted at No. 19 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

“Prisoners”, was released on June 4, 2012 in Europe and June 5, 2012 in North America via Century Media Records. The CD was produced by Christian Donaldson (CRYPTOPSY) and mixed by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILLITY, SUICIDE SILENCE) and it “picks right up where 2009’s ‘Lullabies For The Dormant Mind’ left off, with soaring melodies over complex metal passages that fans of thinking-man’s metal can appreciate,” according to a press release.

Southern California juggernauts IMPENDING DOOM will release their new album, “Death Will Reign”, on November 5 via eOne Music. Recorded, produced and mixed by Will Putney at The Machine Shop (SUICIDE SILENCE, LAMB OF GOD), this is the band’s most ferocious material to date.

IMPENDING DOOM have never sounded uglier and more desperate than on ‘Death Will Reign’,” says Alternative Press.

IMPENDING DOOM has crafted a stunning, deliberate and unrelenting collection with a sense of purpose, drive and continuity. “Death Will Reign” is the culmination of all that has come before, mining the bleak darkness and “scare” factor of last year’s “Baptized in Filth” and the dynamic fury of “There Will Be Violence” and “The Serpent Servant”. All of those elements are injected with the return of the gritty rawness found within the unpolished grind of “Nailed. Dead. Risen”, IMPENDING DOOM‘s squealing cult-classic debut that introduced the world to their unique combination of reverent worship and sick gore-core, dubbed Goreship.

“We wanted this album to sound very natural and unpolished,” explains IMPENDING DOOM‘s longtime bassist David Sittig, a part of the lineup since before the first album’s release. “There’s no crazy digital stuff. There are no fake drums. We wanted it to have the feel of our first album with the songwriting from the last one. We’ve gotten better at song structures and so forth over the years, but we wanted to recapture that old-school vibe, too.”

IMPENDING DOOM‘s fourth full-length album, “Baptized In Filth”, sold 4,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 106 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on March 13, 2012, the CD was produced by Andreas Magnusson (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, THE FAMINE) and was mixed by Machine, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, SUICIDE SILENCE and DEMON HUNTER, among others.

Video footage of Arizona’s EYES SET TO KILL performing a 28-minute set for EMGtv can be seen below.

Commented EYES SET TO KILL frontwoman Alexia Rodriguez: “We’re excited to debut some of our newer tunes from our brand new album, ‘Masks’, on EMGtv.

“We love to stay connected with our fans, so I feel like [by] broadcasting this performance online, those who haven’t yet been able to see us live can finally get that chance thanks to our friends at EMG.

“A lot of people have been asking about my tone off of our newest album, so now people will be able to hear that familiar EMG sound, raw and live!”

EYES SET TO KILL‘s fifth full-length album, “Masks”, sold around 2,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 161 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on September 17 in North America via Century Media Records, the CD was produced by Steve Evetts, who has previously worked with THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SUICIDE SILENCE and SEPULTURA, among others.

In the time leading up to pre-production and the recording of “Masks”, EYES SET TO KILL decided instead of pandering or worrying about expectations, they would hunker down and demo two of their strongest new songs, the irresistibly “True Colors” and “Nothing Left To Say”. Both merged anthemic scope and jarring metallic elegance, making for some of the group’s catchiest fare and as a result, they joined forces with Century Media Records for their fifth studio album.

“Those two songs served as a blueprint for the entire record,” explained Alexia Rodriguez. “When we were writing, I didn’t try to do what everybody else does. We didn’t need to throw a ton of riffs into one song or get overly technical. I wanted to make music that was catchy.”

With that mindset, the group retreated to a Southern California studio with Evetts. In the process, Alexia evolved immensely as the band’s songwriter, and the band’s patented sound expanded. For the first time, Cisko Miranda added staggering screams and vocals, building the harmonies and everything became amplified from the heaviness to the hooks.

“Masks” track listing:

01. Masks
02. Killing In Your Name
03. Lost And Forgotten
04. Where I Want To Be
05. True Colors
06. Surface
07. Little Liar
08. Nothing Left to Say
09. The New Plague
10. Infected
11. Secrets Between
12. Haze
13. Forbidden Line

A teaser for “Open The Gates Of Hell”, the new video from Southern California metallers WINDS OF PLAGUE, can be seen below. The song comes off the band’s fourth album, “Resistance”, which will be released on October 29 via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded with producer Will Putney, who has previously worked with SHADOWS FALL and SUICIDE SILENCE, among others.

WINDS OF PLAGUE last year parted ways with drummer Art Cruz due to creative differences. Sitting behind the kit during the studio sessions for the new album was Brandon Gallindo (ex-DEAD IN EXISTENCE).

WINDS OF PLAGUE will embark on a tour with BLEEDING THROUGH in early November.

WINDS OF PLAGUE‘s third full-length CD, “Against The World”, sold 8,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 60 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on April 19, 2011 via Century Media Records, the effort featured guest appearances from members of HATEBREED, TERROR, FOR TODAY, STRAY FROM THE PATH and former world heavyweight wrestling champion and sports entertainment legend Ultimate Warrior (who performs an epic spoken-word track entitled “The Warrior Code”).

The official lyric video for the song “Dead Man Breathing” from Connecticut hardcore/metal masters HATEBREED can be seen below. The track comes off the band’s latest album, “The Divinity Of Purpose”, which sold 17,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 20 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was made available on January 29 in North America via Razor & Tie and on January 25 in Europe through Nuclear Blast. The CD was co-produced by HATEBREED, Chris “Zeuss” Harris (SUICIDE SILENCE, ALL THAT REMAINS, SHADOWS FALL) and Josh Wilbur (LAMB OF GOD, AVENGED SEVENFOLD), with Wilbur also handling mixing duties. The cover artwork was created and illustrated by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ATHEIST, SIGH, ANACRUSIS, GWAR).

In a recent interview with PureGrainAudio.com, guitarist Frank Novinec stated about the musical direction of “The Divinity Of Purpose”: “We are a universal band like MOTÖRHEAD, where we appeal to rock, metal and hardcore fans, and we feel that we can step outside of our boundaries at times. We did that about as much as we wanted to on the last record and some people were into it and some people weren’t, but there were some great songs in there. I think, definitely, for this one, we wanted it more straightforward; more meat and potatoes. We are a band that has been around for a long time and it is really difficult to come up with something fresh, but I think we achieved that on ‘The Divinity Of Purpose’. More than anything, though, I am really proud at what a solid effort this record is from the beginning to the end.”

Regarding the cover artwork for “The Divinity Of Purpose”, Novinec said: “We had an artist who has done stuff for SODOM and TESTAMENT and others do this one for us. It was kind of a risk, because a lot of people thought, once they saw the cover, that the album was going to be really, really metal, and that is not the case at all. We wanted something different. We are open to different things and experimenting, and we certainly did that with this album cover, but when you look at it, it has the black-and-red classic HATEBREED look to it even though it is something new to us with the painting. I think it is real cool. This is an exciting time for us; everything from having a new album out, being on tour and the artwork.”

GENERATION KILL, the band featuring EXODUS frontman Rob Dukes, will release its sophomore album, “We’re All Gonna Die”, on November 15 via Nuclear Blast. The CD was produced by Chris “Zeuss” Harris, who has previously worked with SUICIDE SILENCE, ALL THAT REMAINS, SHADOWS FALL and SOULFLY, among others.

Commented Dukes: “We called this album ‘We’re All Gonna Die’ because, for the most part, the lyrics are about the darker side of the existence of humans on this planet.

“The album as a whole is so diverse, drawing from our influences that we grew up on.

“We achieved our goal of creating something that we all are so proud of. I personally think this is the strongest vocal performance of my career, and as a band we can’t wait for the hard rock/metal world to hear this album.”

Added Zeuss: “This album is not an EXODUS clone. This is an album of music where five guys got together an explored our own roots of music, the records we grew up listening to and wrote songs paying homage to what we love.”

02. Prophets Of War
03. Self Destruction

Los Angeles-based thashers WARBRINGER will release their fourth studio album, “IV: Empires Collapse”, on October 28 in Europe and October 29 in North America via Century Media Records.

“IV: Empires Collapse”, the studio recording debut for former MANTIC RITUAL members Jeff Potts (guitar) and Ben Mottsman (bass) rounding off WARBRINGER‘s five-piece lineup, was recorded with producer Steve Evetts (SEPULTURA, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SUICIDE SILENCE), mixed by Brett Eliason (PEARL JAM, HEART) and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (CANNIBAL CORPSE, HATEBREED, CONVERGE). The album’s cover artwork, which can be seen below, was designed by Adrienne Rozzi.

Comments WARBRINGER: “The artwork for ‘Empires Collapse’ came about from wanting to take a much more focused and simplistic approach. Previous WARBRINGER album covers are extremely detailed, busy works, so it was a conscious decision to have art that was the antithesis of what we had done before. John Laux came up with the concept, so we had our friend Adrienne Rozzi make up a sketch, which led to us having her follow through with the final piece. It’s incredibly different from what most fans would expect for a WARBRINGER album cover, but we wanted the art to visually reflect the music. The piece reminds me of a tarot card illustration and sets a very cryptic, somber vibe which associates well with the music that ties into the album’s title.”

“IV: Empires Collapse” track listing:

01. Horizon
02. The Turning Of The Gears
03. One Dimension
04. Hunter-Seeker
05. Black Sun, Black Moon
06. Scars Remain
07. Dying Light
08. Iron City
09. Leviathan
10. Off With Their Heads!
11. Towers Of The Serpent

The lyric video for the song “Hunter-Seeker” can be seen below.

WARBRINGER will tour North America with KREATOR and OVERKILL between October 27 and November 29. Additionally, WARBRINGER has just been announced to appear at IRON MAIDEN‘s The Battle Of San Bernardino event on September 13, with additional performances by MEGADETH, ANTHRAX, TESTAMENT, SABATON and OVERKILL, making it a night to remember for fans of heavy/thrash metal.

Said WARBRINGER about the opportunity: “It’s an honor to be able to perform alongside one of heavy metal’s most influential bands and we want to thank everyone who has given us their support in order to achieve this opportunity. It will be a monumental concert for us and all attending. Up the irons!”
