A lengthy video interview with BURZUM mastermind Varg Vikernes (a.k.a. Count Grishnackh) and his wife about their recent arrest on suspicion of planning a “massacre” can be seen below.

Vikernes last month announced his plan to sue the French authorities for what he called his “brutal” arrest.

Vikerenes, 40, who has been living in France for the past three years, and his wife were arrested in July as a preventive measure after Vikernes posted aggressive racist, xenophobic and anti-Semitic comments on Internet forums. The couple’s home was searched and five guns were found, including four rifles legally purchased by Varg‘s wife as a member of a rifle club.

Vikernes reportedly still faces charges that he violated French law against provoking racism.

A French prosecutor said Vikernes was charged with racist provocation of Jews and Muslims on the Internet and will be tried in a French court.

Writing on his official blog, Vikernes said: “We want to sue the authorities for arresting us for no good reason whatsoever, doing so in the most brutal way possible and with children present, and also for without any reason taking away our right to own or even possess weapons. Marie [Varg‘s wife] has a crime record white as snow, so there is no reason for them to take away her right and freedom to own weapons. I have a record in Norway, from 1993 and 2003, but I have never done anything criminal in France, and I can own most weapons even in Norway if I want to, so they have no good reason to take away my right and freedom to own weapons either. Especially not when they have done so under such circumstances.

“The only problem is that we can not afford to sue them, and we see no other solution to this than to ask for help from you. It pains me much to do so, and I have struggled a lot with myself to make me do this, but I think this is the right thing to do right now. They have done everything they could to make sure we could not afford to sue, so I think they really don’t want us to. We ask for help to sue from you, from individuals probably not directly affected by this case, because we believe that we are fighting not only for our rights and freedom, but also for the rights and freedom of every other citizen in France, and perhaps also in other European countries, who also risk being subjected to this type of treatment in the future. We need to tell the authorities that we don’t accept this and that what they do is illegal. We cannot allow them to abuse their power like that and get away with it. This time they did this to us, we don’t know what else they might do to us in the future if we just let them get away with what they did this time, and the next time it can be your neighbour’s turn. Or your friend’s turn. Or someone in your family’s turn. Or your turn.”

Comments Satyr: “We are back! Sorry it took so long, but we needed the time to be able pull off a record like this.

“Comparing this one to previous records is time wasted, it is SATYRICON; constantly on the move.

“Naming this record ‘Satyricon’ was the most obvious thing in the world. We have never done a record which captures the spirit of this band in such a way. Ever. It will demand a lot from you as a listener, but I know you will love it. It will grow on you and that is why it will stay with you forever.

“We won’t tour as much in the future as we used to, and that will just make every tour more special. This album and this tour is for you and ourselves. It is our moment!”

Check out photos from the studio at this location.

Speaking to AOL‘s Noisecreep at this year’s Inferno festival, Satyr stated about SATYRICON‘s upcoming album: “To me, it sounds very authentic, it’s organic-sounding. And in this digital age where music is mostly played through computers, a lot of that analog vibe gets lost in translation when you play music through medias like that, but I still wanna do it because there’s nothing quite like it. To me, it just makes everything sound the way it’s supposed to sound — it’s dynamical; the music is alive, it’s not overly compressed, the levels are not pushed. So, musically speaking, it’s a very atmospheric record… This record is full of life. There are a lot of surprises here, but I think it’s gonna be a record that’s gonna help the black metal movement perhaps find a new way for the future.”

SATYRICON has always pushed boundaries and never conformed to what was “expected”. That mindset continues to this day, as they awill take part in a very special, exclusive show on September 8 at Oslo’s Norwegian National Opera House, where they will perform together with Norway’s 55-strong National Opera Chorus.

The special event is part of the Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, and fans of both SATYRICON and the National Opera Chorus can look forward to a very unique and exciting evening, which coincides with the worldwide release of SATYRICON‘s new CD.

On August 10, Felicity Hall of GetYourRockOut conducted an interview with vocalist Maurizio Iacono of Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based death metallers KATAKLYSM at the Bloodstock Open Air festival at Catton Park, Derbyshire, United Kingdom. You can now watch the chat below.

KATAKLYSM will embark on a European headlining tour in January 2014. Support on the trek will come from KRISIUN and FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE.

“It’s been almost three years since our last club tour in Europe and we are so excited to come back and blow off the roof of every club next January and February,” says Iacono. “We’ve built an album that will stand the test time and will need many headbangers, body surfers and mosh pits to give it justice and we are building a special show that you will never forget. This time, after almost a decade we have decided to tour the U.K. as well, after seeing the reactions at this year’s Bloodstock Open Air. There’s no doubt it’s time to come destroy. Raise your pints!”

KATAKLYSM‘s new album, “Waiting For The End To Come”, will be released on October 29 in North America via Nuclear Blast. The artwork by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, HATEBREED) will be featured on the deluxe digipak and LP versions of the effort. The previously released cover by Peter Sallai (SABATON) will be featured on the standard jewel case and limited edition cassette tape versions.

“This other version of the new art made by Eliran Kantor represents a more iconic and epic approach,” commented Iacono. “A man representing all of humanity, shaking the foundation of existence and ultimately beginning the process of destruction. The main foundation is depicted here as the famous KATAKLYSM ‘tribal sun’ logo. It does not represent the end of KATAKLYSM by any means; more the beginning of a new era after the end of a certain existence.”

The follow-up to 2010’s “Heaven’s Venom”, “Waiting For The End To Come” was recorded by KATAKLYSM guitarist Jean-François Dagenais, who has previously worked with MALEVOLENT CREATION, MISERY INDEX and DESPISED ICON, among others, and mixed by Chris “Zeuss” Harris (SUFFOCATION, HATEBREED, ARSIS).

As previously reported, KATAKLYSM has recruited ex-NEURAXIS drummer Oli Beaudoin to sit behind the kit during the recording sessions for “Waiting For The End To Come”. Beaudoin is also playing all of KATAKLYSM‘s currenty announced shows.

Drummer Max Duhamel announced on April 8 that he was taking a break from KATAKLYSM to deal with issues related to alcohol abuse.
