Posts Tagged “Vocalist Dave” conducted an interview with California rockers Y&T when the band performed at Le Forum in in Vauréal, France on September 28. You can now watch the chat below.

Y&T‘s live album, “Live At The Mystic”, was released in November 2012 via Frontiers Records.

Following original bassist Phil Kennemore‘s untimely passing from lung cancer in early 2011, the band carried on the legacy that is Y&T. With Brad Lang on bass and vocals, Y&T prove their continued strength with “Live At The Mystic”, a double live CD recorded at the legendary Mystic Theatre in Petaluma, California, one of the most popular venues that Y&T play every year. The two-CD set includes 22 songs recorded over two nights in November 2011, including many tracks never before released on any other live Y&T CD. The amazing heat to the tracks showcases the power of the band as it currently sounds, playing songs from “Facemelter” as well as all the hits and fan favorites.

“Songs like ‘Dirty Girl’, with its extended solo section of John Nymann and myself tearing into a nearly three-minute back-and-forth solo was especially a great performance,” said guitarist/vocalist Dave Meniketti. “Also, many of the classic tunes like ‘Black Tiger’, ‘Don’t Wanna Lose’ and ‘Mean Streak’ were very well played and show some of the best live performances of these songs we’ve ever recorded. But I also feel strongly about our more mastered performances from our latest ‘Facemelter’ CD. The energy and much more refined versions of these songs, now that we’ve really had some time to hone in the vibe of these tunes, make it that much more special of a live recording.”

Kaaos TV conducted an interview with vocalist Dave Hunt of Birmingham, England’s ANAAL NATHRAKH before the band’s August 24 show at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland. You can now watch the chat below.

ANAAL NATHRAKH‘s latest album, “Vanitas”, was released on November 6, 2012 via Candlelight Records. Produced by Mick Kenney (BLEEDING THROUGH, INGESTED), the CD carries the band’s signature and regarded union of black metal and grindcore.

ANAAL NATHRAKH‘s seventh album, “Vanitas” “sounds like someone showing you what the end of the world is like via the medium of a thousand hammers soaked in acid,” said Dave Hunt. Digging into the record particulars, he notes, “It’s more articulate and focused than any album before it in way of composition and recording technique. We worked hard and we’re convinced it has paid off.”

Since its inception in 1999, ANAAL NATHRAKH has gained a reputation for embodying the audio essence of pure evil. Various collaborations with the likes of Sethlans Teitan (WATAIN), Shane Embury and Danny Herrera (NAPALM DEATH), and others, have placed the band high on media as well metal fans “must-seek-out” list. This alongside countless placements in “Best Album Of The Month/Year” awards, ANAAL NATHRAKH‘s status as one of the leading lights in extreme metal is undeniable.

“Worse Than War”, the new video from Denver thrashers HAVOK, can be seen below. Directed by Roy Warner, who worked on the band’s “From The Cradle To The Grave” and “Point Of No Return” clips, the video addresses the eight stages of genocide: classification, symbolization, dehumanization, organization, polarization, preparation, extermination and denial.

“Worse Than War” comes off HAVOK‘s latest album, “Unnatural Selection”, which was released in June via Candlelight Records. The ten-song CD was produced by David Sanchez, with mixing handled by Terry Date (PANTERA, OVERKILL, DEFTONES). It features original artwork from Polish illustrator Rafal Wechterowicz (SLAYER, MASTODON) and was mastered by James Murphy (ABORTED, WORLD UNDER BLOOD, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS).

“Unnatural Selection” is a far more mature collection of songs when compared to “Burn” (2009), and “Time Is Up” (2011). HAVOK has truly hit their mark with a sound that will please fans new and old. Another standout is the band’s rendition of the BLACK SABBATH classic “Children Of The Grave”.

“Unnatural Selection” track listing:

01. I Am The State
02. Give Me Liberty… Or Give Me Death
03. It Is True
04. Under the Gun
05. Waste of Life
06. Untitled
07. Chasing the Edge
08. Worse Than War
09. Children of the Grave
10. Unnatural Selection

HAVOK is guitarist/vocalist Dave Sanchez, bassist Mike Leon, guitarist Reece Scruggs, and drummer Pete Webber.

David Brody and Elvis Duran of “The Morning Show” recently conducted an interview with MEGADETH guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson. You can listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below.

MEGADETH has just completed a headlining run at this year’s edition of Gigantour, the critically acclaimed package festival founded in 2005 by Dave Mustaine.

In addition to MEGADETH, this year’s installment of Gigantour featured BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, DEVICE, HELLYEAH, NEWSTED and DEATH DIVISION.

MEGADETH‘s latest album, “Super Collider”, has sold 63,000 copies in the United States since its June 4 release. The CD arrived in stores via Mustaine‘s new label, Tradecraft, distributed by Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). It marks MEGADETH‘s first release since the band’s split with Roadrunner Records.

MEGADETH filmed a video for the “Super Collider” title track on May 10 in the Los Angeles area. California-based model, actress, singer and songwriter Hunter Elizabeth was cast in the lead role in the clip, which she says is “about a high-school couple still loving each other after all the years after graduation, and at the 10-year reunion, both characters find themselves successful (a model and a mathematician) and still very in love.”

“That song kind of came from that ‘Symphony Of Destruction’ corner of my mind,” Mustaine told Guitar World magazine. “You can’t always play aggressive, thrashy stuff. Sometimes those aren’t even songs; they’re like musical rams. But because I’m not a pop guy, I’m also not really comfortable playing sing-along songs. To me, ‘Super Collider’ made sense like a normal song — a verse-chorus-verse-chorus kind of thing. It’s written the way a real songwriter would write the song, instead of just taking all these musical twists and turns.”

As Relapse prepares to officially release Primate’s debut LP “Draw Back A Stump” into the general population on July 3rd, today another new track from the beast has been unleashed. Check out “Silence Of Violence” and get some info on how the group and album came together via Blow The Scene right here.

Also from the album, the track “Pride” is available via a Relapse lyric video in the player available below. The following press release was also issued about the album:

“Primate’s grind-infused hardcore punk ruckus brings the relentless spirit of the genre’s pioneers like Poison Idea, Doom, Bad Brains, Napalm Death and Discharge into the modern age with super slick and thunderous production and a foundation-leveling sonic beating. Formed by vocalist Kevin Sharp, bassist/vocalist Dave Whitworth, drummer Shayne Huff and guitarists Bill Kelliher and Mike Brennan, the band dispersed a 1000-run CD pressing of Draw Back A Stump on their own last year.

“Shortly after, they joined forces with Relapse who are now preparing to officially release a remixed and remastered version of the album worldwide in all formats, featuring three tracks not on the original release. Preorders are available here.

“Following several destructive live appearances last year after the album was initially released, this new version will see Primate taking to the streets once again, as live confrontations and more are being planned to take place in the months ahead.”
