Promoter MassConcerts detailed the 2013 edition of the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival’s annual event at The Palladium in Worcester, Mass. The three day festival commences on Friday April 19, 2013, with a kick off event on Thursday, April 18th. The press release reads as follows:

“For the 2013 installment, the NEW ENGLAND METAL & HARDCORE FESTIVAL will once again overthrow the historic venue, The Palladium, in Worcester, Massachusetts, this year marking the 15th anniversary of the iconic weekend-long gathering! The festivities will commence with a pre-party on April 18th, 2013 and the three official days of the fest following on the 19th, 20th, and 21st.

“Commented the festival’s founder Scott Lee of MassConcerts: ‘I am excited with how far we have come and am ecstatic for this to be on our 15th year! It has been a long, interesting journey. We always try to make it a memorable event and we really hope you all enjoy the festival this year.’

“With more than forty acts from all realms of the extreme music world already set to storm the two stages of NEW ENGLAND METAL & HARDCORE FESTIVAL XV — and with many more to be announced in the coming weeks — the confirmed headliners for the event will include Hatebreed, Opeth and Suicidal Tendencies, as well as legendary thrash titans Anthrax performing their Among The Living album in its entirety, as part of their headlining spot on the Metal Alliance Tour.

Long Island hardcore/thrash hybrid, This Is Hell, has announced a string of U.S. tour dates in support of the band’s fourth studio album, “Black Mass.” The tour will kick off tomorrow night in Schenectady, N.Y., before wrapping up at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in Worcester, Mass. on April 20th.

The band has also released a music video for the song, “Demons,” which can be viewed below. Commented guitarist, Rick Jimenez, “In the downtime we just recently had, we blasted through a video for ‘Demons’ from the Black Mass album. The song is fast, raw and thrashy, so the video is fast, raw and thrashy, and it’s us just doing our thing in the practice space. We’re ready to explode back on the road in the States after our break and bring some ruckus!”

“Black Mass,” the follow-up to the 2010 release, “Weight of the World,” hit stores on October 11th via Rise Records.

Canadian metal/hardcore band Obey The Brave will make its U.S. debut at the 14th Annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival on Friday, April 20th.

The new band features former members of Century Media recording artists Despised Icon and Mediaskare’s Blind Witness.

“Some of my favorite touring memories took place at the Palladium,” said vocalist Alex Erian. “So stoked to be back and can’t wait to play Obey The Braves’ first US show ever at the NEMHF. Shit’s about to get real, fellas.”

Obey The Brave is managed by Good Fight Entertainment and is now working on its debut album for a label to be announced.

The 14th Annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will take place Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22 at the Palladium in Worcester, Mass.

Dragonforce announced that the band will kick off the U.S. Tour with an appearance at the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival at The Palladium in Worcester, Mass on April 21, 2012. The festival runs from April 20-22, 2012. Dragonforce will be one of the headlining acts on Saturday with All That Remains and Overkill.

The new Dragonforce record “The Power Within” is scheduled for release on April 15, 2012 through the band’s own label Electric Generation Recordings.

Legendary KISS guitarist Ace Frehley has been announced as a special guest for the October Rock ‘N Shock Festival in Worcester, Mass.

Frehley, who will meet and greet fans and sign memorabilia, joins an impressive lineup of stars of all things horror and sci-fi, including Robert Englund (aka Freddie Krueger), Kane Hodder (Jason in “Friday the 13th”), Gary Busey (“Predator 2,” “Pirhanna 3D”) and scream queens Heather Lagenkamp (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) and Camille Keaton (“I Spit on Your Grave”).

The three-day festival, which takes place at the DCU Center and the Palladium in Worcester, annually features several metal bands. Past performers have included Type O Negative, GWAR, Misfits, Meshuggah, Mushroomhead, The Haunted and Devil Driver.

The 13th annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will take place on Thursday, April 14, Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16 at the Palladium in Worcester, Mass.  An extra day has been added for this  year.  In addition to its normal Friday and Saturday shows, the festival will add Thursday to the bill. The Thursday lineup will be a day of up-n-comers, giving fans and industry alike the chance to discover “the next big thing.”
